Given,
Length of the steel wire, l = 12 m
Mass of the steel wire, m = 2.0 kg
Velocity of the transverse wave, v = 343 m/s

Mass per unit length, μ = \( \dfrac{M}{I}\) 

\( \dfrac{2.10}{12}\) = 0.175 kg/m

We know,

Velocity of the transverse wave , v =\( \sqrt{\dfrac{T}{\mu }}μT​​\)

Therefore, T = v2 μ

= 3432 x 0.175 = 2.06 x 104 N
