Let us consider the number of resistors required as ‘x.’

The equivalent resistance of the parallel combination of resistor R is given by

\( \frac{1}{R}=x\times \frac{1}{176}=R= \frac{176}{x}\)

Now, using Ohm's law, the number of resistors can be calculated as follows:

\( R= \frac{V}{I}\)

Substituting the value, we get

\( \frac{176}{x}= \frac{V}{I}\)

\( x= \frac{176\times5}{220}=4\)

The number of resistors required is 4.
