Solution :-

(a) CO (carbon monoxide) is a neutral compound. B2O3 is an acidic compound as it is acidic in nature it will react with base to form salt. When it reacts with NaOH it forms sodium metaborate.

\( B_{2}O_{3}+2NaOH\rightarrow 2NaBO_{2}+H_{2}\)

SiO2 is an acidic compound as it is acidic in nature it will react with base to form salt. When it reacts with NaOH it forms sodium silicate.

\( SiO_{2}+2NaOH\rightarrow 2Na_{2}SiO_{3}+H_{2}\)

CO2 is an acidic compound as it is acidic in nature it will react with base to form salt. When it reacts with NaOH it forms sodium carbonate.

\( CO_{2}+2NaOH\rightarrow Na_{2}CO_{3}+H_{2}\)

 

(b) Al2Ois an amphoteric compound because it can react with both acids and bases. The reaction with sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid is given below:

\( Al_{2}O_{3}+2NaOH\rightarrow NaAlO_{2}\)

\(Al_2​O_3​+3H_2​SO_4​→Al_2​(SO_4​)_3​+3H_2​O\)

PbO2 is an amphoteric compound because it can react with both acids and bases. The reaction with sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid is given below:

\( PbO_{2}+2NaOH\rightarrow Na_{2}PbO_{3}+H_{2}O\)

\(2PbO_2​+2H_2​SO_4​→2PbSO_4​+2H_2​O+O_2​\)

Tl2O3  is basic compound because it can react with acid to form salt. It can react with hydrochloric acid to form thallium chloride. The reaction is given below:

Being basic, it reacts with acids to form salts. It reacts with HCl to form thallium chloride.

\( Tl_{2}O_{3}+6HCL\rightarrow 2TlCl_{3}+3H_{2}\)
