Solution :-

Let the oxidation state of Na be y.

In case of peroxides, the oxidation state of oxygen is -1.

Therefore,

2(y) + 2(-1) = 0

2y – 2 = 0

2y = 2

y = +1

Therefore, the oxidation state of Na is +1.
