(1) The plasma membrane embedded with transport protein in root endodermis , which allows the movement of various solutes in appropriate quantities to the xylem.

(2) Absorption of minerals takes place by epidermal cells. The suberin layer inĀ root endodermis allows the active transport unidirectionally.
