If A × B = {(a, x), (a, y), (b, x), (b, y)}. Find A and B.

##### Solution :-

We are provided with the fact that A × B = {(a, x), (a, y), (b, x), (b, y)}

On the other hand, the Cartesian product of two non-empty sets A and B is defined as

A × B = {(a,b) : a ∈ A and b ∈ B}

As we can see, A is the set of all the first elements and B is the set of all the second elements.

So, we will have, A = {a, b} and B = {x, y}
