##### Solution :-

Given:

3x – 7 > x + 1

3x – 7 + 7 > x + 1 + 7

3x > x + 8

3x – x > x + 8 – x

2x > 8

Divide both sides by 2, we get

$$\dfrac{ 2x}{2} > \dfrac{8}{2}$$

x > 4

The solution of the given inequation is (4, ∞).
